THE 13th International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics will be held at Moscow Universitv. U.S.S.R.. August 21-26. 1972. The Congress is organized by the Congress Committee of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. All enquiries regarding participation in the Congress should be directed to the Secretary of the Local Organizing Committee whose address is as follows : Professor G. K. Mikhailov, U.S.S.R. National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Leningrad Avenue 7, Moscow A-40, U.S.S.R. People who propose to attend the Congress should notify the Secretary of the Local Organizing Committee as early as possible, preferably by March 1972 (it is desirable to enclose exact mailing address typed in 4 copies on labels). People accompanying participants will be charged a fee of 11.25 Rbl (US% 12.50). The 13th Congress will encompass the entire field of analytical, solid and fluid mechanics, including applications. About 230 contributed papers will be included in the program and presented in six parallel sessions. A total of 30min will be allotted to each contributed paper, 20 for delivery and 10 for discussion Since the number of papers offered is likely to be much larger than the number which can be included in the program, an international papers committee, assisted by several national committees, will be responsible for selecting papers for presentation. Any participant who wishes to present a paper is requested to send five copies of a summary of 40&500 words to one of the following addresses, according to his country of residence : -I
The U.S.S.R. National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Leningrad Avenue 7, Moscow A-40, U.S.S.R. Authors resident in any other country should send their summaries to : Professor E. Becker, Secretary of the IUTAM Congress Committee, Institut fur Mechanik der. Technischen, Hochschule, Hochschulstrasse 1, 61 Darmstadt, FR Germany. Summaries must reach one of the above addresses by March IS, 1972. Any summaries that arrive later cannot be considered for presentation. Summaries may be written in English, French, German or Russian. Each summary should contain at the top the full postal address of the author.
