Split-platen printer A split-platen lineprinter which allows users to print independently two forms at once has been introduced by the General Electric Company of the USA. The TermiNet 200 has a maximum print speed of 200 char/s and is operable via a serial interface at speeds of 110, 150, 200, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800 or 9600 baud. Each side of the platen has its own motor and can print one to nine part forms with a maximum thickness of 0.028 in. The left platen can take forms from 2 to 8½ in wide and the right platen can take forms from 2 to 4½ in wide. Left and right form lengths can be formatted independently. Print densities of 10, 12.9, 15

Termi-Net 200 split-platen printer and 16.5 char/in may be codecontrolled or any two densities may be selected by the operator. Typical applications for the printer include general ledger work, prescription invoice and label production or cheque and receipt writing. Options include an alternative character fount and a 2 k input data buffer. (Data
