TENTH CANADIAN CONGRESS OF APPLIED MECHANICS June 2 - 7, 1985 The University of Western Ontario London, Canada
CANCAM occupies a special position as a Canadian forum for new ideas in mechanics, tt has an interdisciplinary tradition and attracts approximately 500 engineers, applied mathematicians, and scientists, roughly half of whom are from outside Canada. The technical programme is run with a number of parallel sessions which, together with the extended abstracts published in the proceedings, allows opportunities for an easy, practical and efficient exchange of information both within one's own speciality and outside it. Over the years the special CANCAM lectures by international experts have been highlights and an important stimulus to the field. It is an excellent occasion for experts to meet, as well as for new researchers to make their debut and meet new faces. The organizing committee aims to make the social programme as enjoyable as the technical programme is stimulating, and we hope you bring your spouse.
Papers from all areas of applied mechanics are solicited. Typical areas of interest are: dynamics and vibrations, solid mechanics and structures, fluid mechanics, wind engineering, heat transfer, thermodynamics, applied mathematics, computer methods, biomechanics, and experimental methods. Papers describing problems of industrial concern are encouraged. Paper selection will be based on the review of extended abstracts submitted on approved typing mats which are included in the author's package. Accepted abstracts will appear in the Conference Proceedings. Author's package and general information are available from:
